You Vs. Chemicals

I am always thinking, how can I do it like mother nature intended?  My goal is to be as harmonious as possible with what your body needs to be as healthy as possible.

I have a lot of people who ask what is so important about Detox.  Do I have to do it?  I don’t want to starve or eat things that taste horrible.  I don’t blame you!  At all.

Unfortunately, the way things are, the question really isn’t IF you are toxic, but HOW toxic are you?

1. 287 chemicals detected in umbilical cord blood of newborns.

This includes pesticides, chemicals, pollutants, consumer product ingredients, waste materials from burning coal, gasoline and garbage.  180 of the 287 chemicals are known to cause cancer in humans or animals.  208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests and 217 are toxic tot he brain and nervous system.

2. Toxins are coming from food, air, water.

Really, you are coming in contact with these daily.  DAILY!  ugh!  How do we live naturally in an unnatural world?

1. PDE’s

Polybrominateddiphenylethers – used as flame retardant.  This is everywhere.  In movie theater seats, drapes, anything that is upholstery.  If you go to the movies and breathe in the air and touch the chairs, there is exposure.

2. BPA

Bisphenol A – Plastics and can linings.

Boys exposed to higher BPA concentrations as a fetus or during early childhood were more likely to suffer from anxiety, aggression, depression and hyperactivity at age 7, according to a new study. Follow this link to read more.


Perfluorooctanoic acid – non stick cookware and stain resistant clothing

“The major health effect linked with Teflon is the potential release of dangerous fumes from coated pans that are overheated. These fumes can cause flu-like symptoms in humans (a condition known as polymer fume fever) and can be fatal to birds.” –

PFOA has the potential to be more of a health concern because it can stay in the environment and in the human body for long periods of time. Studies have found that it is present at very low levels in just about everyone’s blood in the United States.

PFOA and some similar compounds can be found at low levels in some foods, drinking water, and in household dust. Although PFOA levels in drinking water are usually low, they can be higher in certain areas. For example, an area near a chemical plant in West Virginia had higher levels of PFOA in its water due to contamination. People can also be exposed to PFOA from ski wax and fabrics and carpeting that have been treated to be stain resistant. Non-stick cookware is not a significant source of exposure.”–

Even though PFOA is stated by the EPA not to have significant amounts left in the product, it is used during its manufacture, which then increases the risk of residents who works in those factories and live close by due to water contamination.  The EPA is not sure how PFOA gets into the blood, they just know it is there.


Methyl tert-butyl ether – Gasoline Additive and Second Hand Smoke

Thought we would be done with cigarettes by now?  Seems not.  It also seems like the chemicals they put in those coffin nails are getting worse.  What ever happened to just the leaf?  It seems those companies need to make them as dangerous as possible.

5. Heavy Metals

Lead, Mercury, Arsenic, Aluminum, Cadmium

Don’t get me started.  These are everywhere!  And are extremely damaging to neurons, DNA, cell function, and immunity.
